Will Smith And David Leitch Team Up For Double Identity Thriller ‘Fast & Loose’

In the right kind of movie, Will Smith remains one of the true box office heavyweights. Lately, people only want to pay to see him in sequels like Bad Boys for Life, comic book flicks like Suicide Squad, or family-friendly stuff like Aladdin, but what about a thriller from Hobbs & Shaw, Deadpool 2, and John Wick mastermind David Leitch?

Deadline reports Smith will star in Fast & Loose, a memory-loss thriller to be directed by Leitch. The film has been in the works for a while, with Leitch previously on board just as a producer. But now he’s directing a script by The Meg duo Jon and Eric Hoeber that follows John Riley (Smith), who wakes up in Tijuana with no memory of who he was. He soon discovers that he was living two lives: one as a successful crime kingpin with everything a lavish lifestyle brings; the other as an undercover CIA agent with with no family, no money, just an ordinary guy. He must figure out which of these two identities is actually his, and whether that’s the one he truly wants.

Dude, take the money.

Both Smith and Leitch are pretty busy at the moment. Smith will be seen next in biopic King Richard, playing the role of Venus and Serena Williams’ father. He will follow that with Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming runaway slave drama Emancipation.

Leitch is currently working on his action flick Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.

With Smith and Leitch on board, is there any wonder studios are engaged in a major bidding war to get their hands on this?
