Netflix Gets Punny With The Release Date for ‘Pacific Rim: The Black’ In New Teaser

We talked a few days ago about the amazing slate of IP (intellectual property) to which Netflix is giving the anime treatment, if you’re a fan of the style you are going to have your pick of the litter when it comes to entertainment. The property most likely to kick ass has to be Pacific Rim: The Black, a continuation of the film franchise of the same name. Details other then that have been somewhat scarce but from the looks of this teaser humans are NOT winning the war against the Kaiju. Pacific Rim and its sequel were both amazing films that were highly underappreciated. From the SFX to the sharp dialogue, great performances to top-level one-liners (“We are cancelling the APOCALYPSE!”) those flicks had everything, well everything except for broad appeal. The anime format at Netflix will allow more of everything that matters, the basis of the movie seems like it was made for anime in the first place so getting there just makes sense. We can have as many Jaegers doing as much out of this world stuff as we can handle.

The main point of the just released teaser was the release date announcement. Pacific Rim: The Black will hit the streaming giants server on March 4th, which is just absolutely appropriate. Why you ask? Well, my dad joke detector went into overdrive when I read the news, here’s why. What do Jaegers do when they go into battle? They March Forth ….I’ll be here all week folks
