It’s Official: ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice’ Is A 4-Hour Movie Coming To HBO Max On March 18th

It’s official: Zack Snyder’s Justice League is not a 4-hour series, but a 4-hour movie event coming to HBO Max. Warner Bros. and Snyder himself confirmed the news today, giving the director’s superhero redo a March 18th release date. That’s four years after the original Franken-version, begun by Snyder but finished by Joss Whedon, was released into theaters.

The announcement also comes with a brand new synopsis, which not only mentions the villain Steppenwolf, but Apokolips and DeSaad. The latter two were meant to be part of the original Justice League film, but were removed and have now been restored. They will be played by Ray Porter and Peter McGuinness, respectively.

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher),, and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad,, and Darkseid,, and their dreadful intentions.

March is shaping up to be a DC vs. Marvel showdown, as Zack Snyder’s Justice League arrives just a day before the debut of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
