Watch: ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Opening Scene Returns To Themyscira

Warner Bros. has dropped an early Christmas gift for those eager to see Wonder Woman 1984 next week. The opening minutes are now available online, and while we know the film is taking us back to the nostalgic ’80s, this footage goes much further back in time, back to when a young Diana was a girl trying to be part of the Amazonian Olympics.

Of course, that means a return to the mystical island of Themyscira, which was such a fantastic part of 2017’s Wonder Woman that a spinoff is in the works. Here, we see the returns of Connie Nielsen as as Hippolyta, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Lilly Aspell as young Diana before she would grow up to look like Gal Gadot.

Wonder Woman 1984 will be available in theaters and HBO Max on Christmas Day. Some reviews are already out, though, with mine arriving this Friday, and currently sits at 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not too shabby.
