‘Revolver’: Maya & Ethan Hawke To Play Father/Daughter Pair In Beatles Film From ‘John Carter’ Director

The Hawke clan is certainly keeping it in the family lately. Ethan Hawke and his daughter Maya both appear in the Showtime series The Good Lord Bird, and now they’ll star together as father and daughter in the Beatles-inspired film, Revolver. Considering the sexual nature of the plot, this could get pretty awkward.

Revolver stars Maya Hawke as a teen girl in Anchorage, AK on June 27th 1966 when The Beatles flight to Japan is forced to make an unexpected landing in her town. She decides to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime moment and lose her virginity to George Harrison.

Behind the camera is Pixar vet Andrew Stanton, who scored some huge hits with Wall-E, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory. However, his live-action cred has the John Carter blemish on it, which may explain why this is his first non-animated directing gig in a while.

Maya Hawke is still pretty new at this acting thing, but she had a breakout as Robin in season 3 of Stranger Things, including an episode penned by Revolver writer Kate Trelfry. She also had a small role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Ethan Hawke? Never heard of him. [Deadline]
