‘Hawkeye’ Series Rumored To Include Villain Madame Masque

Now that Clint Barton is getting the spotlight in his Hawkeye series on Disney+, we’re going to start seeing some of his Rogue’s Gallery show up. Granted, Hawkeye doesn’t have the best assemblage of villains to deal with, but one who has been around a long time and been a thorn to many Marvel superheroes is Madame Masque, and a new rumor says she might be turning up on the small screen.

The rumor comes from The Direct, which means we can’t fully buy into it just yet. The site says Marvel Studios have begun casting for someone to play Madame Masque, a robotics expert, skilled hand-to-hand fighter, and the daughter of another powerful Marvel villain, Count Nefaria. She’s typically seen battling Iron Man more often than not, but has been known to harass both Clint Barton and Kate Bishop, Hawkeye’s protege who will be in the Disney+ series, as well.

An interesting thing to note is that Madame Masque has sorta already appeared in the MCU? While her birth name is Giulietta Nefaria, she legally changed her name to Whitney Frost. A character named Whitney Frost appeared in the ABC series Agent Carter, but of course that was set decades in the past and isn’t really considered canon anymore. So I guess Marvel is free to use her as they please without messing up continuity.

Other villains that are rumored to appear, mostly based on set photos and pure speculation, are the Tracksuit Mafia (f’real) and Hawkeye’s brother, Trick Shot.

Anyway, we’ll see if this is true and Madame Masque shows up when Hawkeye hits Disney+ in 2022.
