Trailer For Pyrotechnics Doc 'Brimstone & Glory' Signals Benh Zeitlin's Return

Five years ago Benh Zeitlin was the talk of Hollywood for his debut feature, Beasts of the Southern Wild, and if you thought that was the start of an exciting new directorial career...well, maybe you'll be right someday. But Zeitlin hasn't directed anything since and has nothing in the pipeline. Instead he's been doing other things behind the camera, like producing and composing musical scores, both of which he does in the upcoming documentary, Brimstone & Glory.

Directed by Viktor Jakovleski, who appears to have taken a few cues from Zeitlin on a visual front, the film highlights the awesome spectacle of The National Pyrotechnic Festival in Tultepec, Mexico. Zeitlin worked with Beasts of the Southern Wild's Dan Rohmer on the score, and overall this looks and sounds stunning. I can't wait to see the full movie for myself.

Brimstone & Glory opens October 27th.
