Spike Lee And Jordan Peele Team For 'Black Klansman'

Even though the last few years have been pretty lean on quality Spike Lee movies, he remains one of our most groundbreaking directors. His previous film, the underrated and criminally underseen Chi-Raq, was the first movie ever produced by Amazon Studios, and we've seen how far they've progressed since then.  Now as Spike readies his Netflix series adaptation of his breakthrough film, She's Gotta Have It, he's also got a new feature in the works alongside the red-hot Jordan Peele.

Spike Lee will direct Focus Features' Black Klansman, which tells the incredible true story of Ron Stallworth, an African-American detective in Colorado who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan. Get Out's Jordan Peele will produce, and Denzel's son John David Washington (Ballers) will star.

Dude. On paper this sounds incredible and exactly like the kind of project Spike should be doing right now. I love that Peele is using his newfound influence to make projects like this happen, and I'm going to go ahead and pencil this in as a film to keep a close eye on. Shooting begins later in the fall.
