Ryan Gosling Confronts Lennie James In First 'Blade Runner 2049' Clip

The first clip for Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 has arrived, but to look at it you'd be forgiven for thinking it was something else. Gone are the flashy colors, the snappy futuristic dazzle that has marked much of the footage we've seen previously, in favor of a tone that's grounded and definitely more immediately disturbing.

Ryan Gosling's Officer K is seen investigating what looks like a garbage dump, only for it to turn out to be a sweatshop of some kind, filled with scores of homeless kids working away. Running the joint is a disheveled caretaker, played by The Walking Dead's Lennie James, who clearly does not have their best interests at heart. He seems pretty defiant, too.

Officer K is probably seeking out one particular child, but we'll have to check out the scene in full context to find out why.  Blade Runner 2049 opens October 6th 2017.
