Matthew Vaughn Confirms Talks To Direct 'Man Of Steel 2'

There used to be a time when Matthew Vaughn had no interest in sequels, now he can't get enough of them. His Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens this weekend with a third in the planning stages, assuming this one is another hit. And earlier this year his name emerged as a contender to direct Man of Steel 2, whenever that film happens. How legit was that rumor? Pretty legit, because Vaughn just confirmed it to HeyUGuys.

The site caught up with Vaughn while on the Kingsman 2 press tour, so of course they asked him about Superman (huh?). The director confirmed three things: that Kingsman 3 is indeed in the works, that he's in talks with Warner Bros. about Man of Steel 2, and that he's a big ol' nerd at heart...

“I am planning another Kingman, I’ve written the treatment and some of the scenes… I don’t know what I’m going to do next but I have had chats about Superman, I love Superman. If somebody asks me to do Indiana Jones, most of the superheros, or Star Wars, the fanboy in me can’t help but be excited."

I think Vaughn has been mentioned for pretty much all of those at one point or another. And of course, he's already done an X-Men movie. He could easily be the guy to direct Supes' next solo movie and if that's the case we'll know the film is in capable hands.
