'Insidious: The Last Key' Trailers Return You To The Further

To be perfectly honest, I had completely forgotten that there was a fourth Insidious movie happening. Of the many horror franchises launched by James Wan, this one has been one of the most successful financially, and yet flies a little under the radar. Well that should change now with the first trailer for Insidious: The Last Key, which looks to unlock a few blood-curdling screams from the audience.

A prequel set after the events of Insidious Chapter 3 (sorry, no Patrick Wilson or Rose Byrne once again!), the story follows Lin Shaye's popular clairvoyant, Dr. Elise Rainier, as we see her spooky powers first begin to manifest. Angus Sampson and franchise writer Leigh Whannell are back as fun-loving ghostbusters Tucker and Specs, and it looks like the home being haunted is where Elise grew up, which should be interesting.

The opening scene is going to haunt my nightmares. Do whatever you want, just don't touch my neck.

Directed by Adam Robitel (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) with Josh Stewart, Spencer Locke, Hana Hayes, and Kirk Acevedo co-starring, Insidious: The Last Key opens on January 5th 2018.
