'Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool' Trailer: Annette Bening Has An Oscar-Worthy Romance

While it's obviously way too early to start picking Oscar contenders, nothing can be set in stone until Annette Bening has had her say. She appears to have another strong shot to earn her fifth nomination with Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, and the timing would be perfect as she's playing Oscar-winning American actress, Gloria Grahame.

Buzz out of Telluride is building for the real-life romance film, both for Bening and her co-star Jamie Bell, who plays Grahame's much-younger lover, Peter Turner. Turner and Grahame met while she was acting on stage in Liverpool, building a relationship that would change both of their lives. It's during this time that Grahame would learn of her breast cancer's return after years of remission, but rather than fight it she would choose to stay and live life to the fullest. The film is based on Turner's memoir, with Paul McGuigan behind the camera in what will hopefully be a bounce back from Victor Frankenstein. Julie Walters, Stephen Graham, and Vanessa Redgrave co-star.

Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool hits the U.K. in November, but has yet to gain a U.S. date from Sony Pictures Classics. You can bet it will be soon, though.
