Daniel Dae Kim Replaces Ed Skrein In The 'Hellboy' Reboot

When Ed Skrein dropped out of the Hellboy reboot a couple of weeks ago, it was so that someone more racially appropriate could take on the role of Ben Daimio. We had no idea if that was actually going to happen, though. The just as easily could have hired another white guy to play the Japanese-American character, ignoring the whitewashing controversy that erupted.  Well, smartly, that's not what they've done.

Hawaii Five-O and Lost's Daniel Dae Kim is in talks to replace Skrein. Kim has been in the headlines lately for a similar story, as he and co-star Grace Park exited CBS' hit Hawaii Five-O due to a salary dispute in which they sought pay equity with the show's white stars. The network chose to let them both go.

Kim joins David Harbour, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane, Milla Jojovich, and Penelope Mitchell in Neil Marshall's Hellboy, which can now move on from that silly oversight.  [THR]
