Adam McKay's Dick Cheney Film Titled 'Backseat', Stefania Owen Joins Cast

You may recall that I was incredibly excited to see the rise of actress Stefania Owen last year. She had two terrific performances in a row, one in Coming Through the Rye opposite Alex Wolff and Chris Cooper, and the second in Katie Holmes' directorial debut, All We Had. Well now she's moving up to bigger projects, like Adam McKay's starry film on Vice President Dick Cheney, which we now know is titled Backseat.

I'm not sure what's up with that title, but I can assume it's because Cheney was the backseat driver of George W. Bush's entire presidency. The film stars Christian Bale as Cheney, the Halliburton exec who rose to become the most powerful and controversial VP ever. Sam Rockwell was just cast as Bush, with Steve Carell, Amy Adams, and Bill Pullman already on board.

Filming begins later this month. [Deadline]
