'You Were Never Really Here' Trailer Shows Joaquin Phoenix's Violent Side

Speaking to the potential power in Lynne Ramsay's new film, You Were Never Really Here, it managed to make quite an impressive showing at Cannes all while being unfinished. Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor for his lead performance, and the screenplay also won by tying with The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Well damn, how good is this thing going to be when it's actually done??

Featuring a tight, intense premise and a score by Jonny Greenwood that already has my hackles raised, the film looks like an awards season gamechanger, if it gets a date in time. Phoenix plays a former soldier on a mision to save the abducted daughter of a politician, only to unleash a firestorm of violence.

You Were Never Really Here opens internationally in November, but Amazon has yet to give it a U.S. date.
