Shia LaBeouf Takes To The Court In New 'Borg Vs McEnroe' Trailer

For a movie without a U.S. release date we're seeing a lot of the tennis drama, Borg vs. McEnroe. However, that is likely to change next month as TIFF has set the film as its Opening Night entry, marking a distinct change of pace for the festival. It's an indication that somebody out there thinks it may have the goods to be a player, and now we're getting another trailer to help make that case.

The always controversial Shia LaBeouf plays, appropriately enough, the equally unpredictable John McEnroe with Sverrir Gudnason as his longtime rival Bjorn Bjorg. The two were like fire and ice off the court but they created magic every time they faced one another. The film, which is directed by Janus Metz Pederson, details their epic showdown at Wimbledon in 1980.

The film opens in the U.K. and other countries on September 22nd, and I would say to expect news on a U.S. date very soon.
