Olivia Cooke Is Art3mis In New Look At 'Ready Player One'

Other than what Marvel was laying down, I don't know if anything tore the roof off of Comic-Con more than the trailer for Ready Player One. Stephen Spielberg's adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel, which itself references Spielberg judiciously, was a feast for the eyes of the nerdiest pop culture nerd. But one thing we didn't get to see a lot of was Olivia Cooke as the OASIS' most deadly gunter, Art3mis. Well now that has been rectified.

Empire has debuted the new photo featuring Cooke in her role, and she looks to be gearing up to enter the VR world of the OASIS. Standing googly-eyed (and who can blame him?) in front of her is Tye Sheridan, who plays Wade Watts aka Parzival, the young man who escapes from the chaotic reality around him to join a treasure hunt within the OASIS that could change his life forever. Here's the synopsis:

The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.

Also starring Mark Rylance, Ben Mendelsohn, and TJ Miller, Ready Player One opens March 30th 2018.
