Matt Damon Gets Little In Teaser For Alexander Payne's 'Downsizing'

I think to a certain extent all of Alexander Payne's movies have thought small. He keeps his stories personal, and often they focus on characters who feel dwarfed by life or by other big personalities. Well, Payne gets literal in his new film, Downsizing, which finds Matt Damon literally shrunk down to size for what looks like the director's most upbeat effort yet.

The Venice Film Festival kicked off today with Downizing as the opener, and early buzz is already going strong. Damon and Kristen Wiig play a married couple who agree to undergo a procedure that will shrink them down to a fraction of their size, as part of an overall solution to overpopulation. It seems like the cure for all of their relationship problems, but of course things don't work out quite as planned.  Jason Sudeikis, Hong Chau, Neil Patrick Harris, Laura Dern, Joaquim de Almeida, and Christoph Waltz co-star.

Check out the new teaser for Downsizing below, then look for it to open on December 22nd.
