Liam Neeson Is Deep Throat In Trailer For 'Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House'

I'm of two minds when it comes to the political drama Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House. Formerly titled Felt, then The Silent Man, both titles much better than the current one, the film deals with the man who could come to be known as "Deep Throat", providing critical intel to the press on the Watergate scandal. On the one hand, it's certainly timely as our current President is up to his eyeballs in a scandal that's far worse than Watergate. But, audiences haven't exactly been keen on movies that hit a little too close to home. See also: Detroit.

The first trailer has arrived and it has Liam Neeson slipping into the role of Felt, who was the key source of information to Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. The film will also detail his life at home, and how the pressure he was under affected it. Unfortunately, Neeson won't get to fight a pack of wolves in this one, unless you count Nixon's Cabinet.

Written and directed by Peter Landesman, with Diane Lane, Marton Csokas, Josh Lucas, Tony Goldwyn, Michael C. Hall, Tom Sizemore, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ike Barinholtz, Bruce Greenwood, Brian D’Arcy James, Kate Walsh, Noah Wyle, and Maika Monroe co-starring, the film opens on September 29th.
