Jared Leto's Building An Army In Mysterious New 'Blade Runner 2049' Trailer

Blade Runner 2049 is a little over a month away, and you can tell because the marketing campaign has kicked up a notch. Not only do they have their own line of cool Funko figures, the sign of any anticipated movie, but the TV spots are so lengthy we're not just calling them trailers. While many of the film's secrets remain intact, I think this one finally gives away that Jared Leto, who plays the mysterious Niander Wallace, is the closest thing to a villain that we've seen thus far.

Ryan Gosling is Officer K (no relation to Agent K from Men in Black), who seeks out the help of former agent Rick Deckard, bringing Harrison Ford back to his memorable role from the 1984 sci-fi classic. It appears they'll be trying to stop Wallace from building an army of replicants that will throw the fragile society into chaos. Ana de Armas, who looks like her role will be larger than I thought, plus Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, and Dave Bautista round out a truly epic cast for director Denis Villeneuve to work with.

Blade Runner 2049 opens October 6th.
