Snowy First Looks At Idris Elba & Kate Winslet In 'The Mountain Between Us'

While it's tough to complain about any movie that would put Charlie Hunnam and Margot Robbie together, you also won't find too much disagreement if they were replaced by Idris Elba and Kate Winslet. That's exactly what happened in the upcoming adaptation of survival thriller/romance The Mountain Between Us, which USA Today has just debuted the first images from. And yes, there are plenty of actual mountains everywhere. And snow. Lots of snow.

Directed by Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now), the film is an adaptation of Charles Martin's novel centering on two strangers, him a surgeon and her a photojournalist trying to get to her wedding, who are stranded on a mountain when their plane crashes.

The film was shot out in the frigid cold of the Canadian wilderness, which might have been too much for some actors but apparently wasn't for Elba or Winslet, who the director calls "professional" and "tough" for enduring it like champs.

The Mountain Between Us opens October 20th.
