Disney/Pixar are really loading up on the Cars 3 trailers, perhaps realizing that nobody is talking about it with only a month away from release. Or they noticed that with each trailer the merchandising sales spike. Either way, here's the latest trailer that follows Lightning McQueen as he attempts a comeback after a devastating crash.
SYNOPSIS: Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
I'm one of the rare few who actually dug Cars 2 better than the first movie, which I absolutely loathed. This one looks like it has the potential to be the best of the three. I don't know if the mature storyline will affect toy sales, but we'll see. Cars 3 opens June 16th, and includes the voice of Armie Hammer as Lightning's rival, Jackson Storm.
