Remember when the Fast & Furious movies were just about hot cars and hotter women? Ahhh, how innocent they used to be, but that was a long time ago. As the long-running franchise (15 years!!!) moves into its eighth chapter with the newly-titled The Fate of the Furious, the stunts have only become more insane, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
But beyond just the ridiculous car manuevers pulled off by Vin Diesel and crew, these movies have always been about family. We've seen Dom Torretto's fam shaken to their core of late by a pair of sudden deaths, and of course the real-life passing of star Paul Walker. However, the new film's title is ominous for a reason because now it's Dom who appears to have betrayed everyone he loves. The giant wrecking ball seen in the opening chase is nothing compared to the wrecking ball Dom takes to his family.
Charlize Theron makes her franchise debut as the villain who forces Dom's hand, and we see Jason Statham return working on the side of the angels. Everything has gone haywire. Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Lucas Black, Kurt Russell, Elsa Pataky, Scott Eastwood, Kristofer Hivju, and Helen Mirren, The Fate of the Furious opens April 14th 2017.
