We are pleased to offer our DC readers the chance to attend a free screening of Denzel Washington's adaptation of August Wilson's Fences, in which he stars alongside Viola Davis. Set in the 1950s, the film centers on Troy (Washington, reprising his Tony Award-winning performance), a former Negro League baseball player who was forced to give up his dream due to the color barrier. Now working as a trash collector, he struggles to raise his family while dealing with the disappointment.
The screening takes place on Monday, December 19th at 7:30pm at Landmark E Street. If you'd like to attend, simply register at the Gofobo ticketing site here and download one Admit-Two pass. Please note that having passes does not guarantee entry and you'll need to arrive early to ensure receiving a seat. Enjoy the show!
Fences opens on Christmas Day.
