Matt Damon Is Bringing His 'Ocean's Eleven' Character To 'Ocean's Eight'

It looks like at least one original member of the crew is coming back for Ocean's Eight, and no it's not George Clooney like we thought. While there's still a good chance he does return, possibly in Ocean's Nine (or whatever), we now know that Matt Damon will be reprising his role in the spinoff.

Damon revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he'll have something to do in Ocean's Eight, coming back as the talented and naive Linus Caldwell. And the reason he's returning? When the cast consists of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett,  Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina does he really need a reason?

“I’m doing a little bit in the movie,” Damon said. “I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”

I find it hard to believe only one member of Danny Ocean's team will be involved, so I'll continue to hold out hope for a return of "The Amazing Yen".  Ocean's Eight opens June 8th 2018.
