When Ava DuVernay agreed to direct Disney's adaptation A Wrinkle in Time it was a very big deal. But it's clear the cast she's putting together for the fantasy adventure film is going to be even bigger. Variety reports Zach Galifianakis, Andre Holland, and Levi Miller and young Deric McCabe are filling out the star-studded lineup.
Oprah Winfrey, Storm Reid, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are already on board the film, which is based on Madeleine L’Engle’s classic book about Meg Murry, a young girl who goes on an otherworldly adventure with her genius brother and friend Calvin to find her missing scientist father. Galifianakis will play the alien being known as Happy Medium, who is actually a female in the novel. Holland, who can be seen giving an incredible performance in Moonlight, will play Mr. Jenkins the school principal. Miller, who was last seen leading Joe Wright's Pan, will play Calvin.
This will hopefully help us forget Galifianakis' two most recent comedy stinkers, Masterminds and Keeping Up with the Joneses.
