Every time a new Underworld movies comes out you'll get the same gaggle of talking heads shitting on the franchise, asking "Who watches these movies"? Well, the answer is that a lot of people do, which is why 2012's Underworld: Awakening was the highest-grossing yet. It's also why we're getting the fifth film of Vampire and Lycan warfare, Underworld: Blood Wars.
Kate Beckinsale is back as Selene, the Death Dealer in skin-tight leather who must stave off the renewed Lycan clan that threatens to wipe the Vampires out of existence. Also returning for this one are Theo James as her ally David, and Charles Dance as his father Thomas, one of the great Vampire Elders. Outlander and Game of Thrones' Tobias Menzies joins as Marias, the Lycan's newest leader, with Trent Garrett replacing Scott Speedman as hybrid Michael Corvin.
Directed by Anna Foerster, who has kept the series' stark blue color scheme, Underworld: Blood Wars opens January 6th 2017. Check out the latest trailer and new character posters below.
