It's been two years since Elisabeth Moss showed her impeccable dramatic range with her Golden Globe-winning performance in Top of the Lake. Jane Campion's series was one of the best on TV, even if it could have used a few more viewers, and we're lucky to have it coming back for a second season with Moss returning as troubled detective Robin Griffin.
Our first look at the new season doesn't reveal much except that Moss has her scowl back on and ready to go. Set four years after prior events, Robin takes on a new murder investigation in Sydney, Australia where an unidentified woman's body has washed up on the Bondi Beach.
And the cast is once again tremendous all around with Gwendoline Christie and Nicole Kidman co-starring, probably as suspects. Campion and Ariel Kleiman will direct Top of the Lake's second season when it arrives next year on SundanceTV. [IndieWire]
