Dan Krauss' war documentary The Kill Team is being turned into a feature film, and it will star Alexander Skarsgard and Nat Wolff. The film will center on Private Adam Winfield, who attempted to turn whistleblower against his own platoon when members ran a murderous scheme in Southern Afghanistan. Wolff will play Winfield with Skarsgard as Sgt. Deeks, described as "fraternal and imposing". Krauss will adapt the screenplay and direct, so at least we know it will be faithful to his vision. Shannon Purser has made the most of her breakout role as poor, dearly-departed Barb on Netflix's Stranger Things. She's landed a role in the CW series, Riverdale (as Ethel Muggs!!), and opposite Melissa McCarthy in Life of the Party. Now she will exit the Upside Down into a different horror, Wish Upon, joining the previously cast Joey King. The story follows Claire (King), a 16-year-old high school misfit who discovers a magic box that fulfills any wish, except that each wish exacts a deadly payment. Purser will play June, Claire's best friend. John Leonetti (Annabelle) is directing from a Barbara Marshall screenplay that found its way onto the Black List.
