James Wan may be about to head up Warner Bros.' big screen Aquaman movie with Jason Momoa, but he's already launched another blockbuster franchise on a much smaller scale. His hit horror film The Conjuring launched a spinoff, Annabelle, featuring the creepy doll locked away in their basement. This year's The Conjuring 2 has also led to a follow-up centering on its demonic antagonist in a nun habit. But before that haunts theaters a sequel to Annabelle will take its turn, and the first teaser for it is here.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, who scored another horror success in the Wan-produced Lights Out (still in theaters by the way), the film tells another story of the haunted doll as it terrorizes a new family. Miranda Otto, Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Anthony LaPaglia, and Lulu Wilson star in what looks like a pretty standard genre flick based on this footage. But we'll see if Sandberg can conjure up something unexpected because he's actually a very talented filmmaker.
Annabelle 2 arrives May 19th 2017.
