No Little Bitches In Trailer For Gay Porn Drama 'King Cobra' Starring James Franco

The last time James Franco and writer/director Justin Kelly teamed up it was for I Am Michael (review here), which told the true story of a gay activist who somehow became a Christian pastor preaches against homosexuality. It was a crazy story told with nuance and grace, but did it ever open anywhere? Nope. So maybe going wildly over-the-top in exploring a sub-set of gay culture is the way to go, and that brings us to this bizarre trailer for gay porn film, King Cobra.

This one looks kinda crazy. The film is set in the gay web porn industry and stars James Franco as a mogul competing against a rival played by Christian Slater (!!!) for the services of the hottest young stud (Garrett Clayton) in town. You also get Keegan Allen as Franco's unhinged lover ("No little bitches!"), and a pair of retro celebs in Alicia Silverstone and Molly Ringwald. Guh, I can't wait. This could be the new Boogie Nights. Okay, probably not, but it still looks like fun.  Here's the synopsis:

Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, King Cobra is a deliciously dark, twisted plunge into the behind-the-scenes world of the pornography industry. It’s 2006, YouTube is in its infancy, and internet porn is still behind a paywall. Taking the stage name Brent Corrigan, a fresh-faced, wannabe adult video performer (Garrett Clayton) is molded into a star by Stephen (Christian Slater), a closeted gay porn mogul who runs the skin flick empire Cobra Video from his seemingly ordinary suburban home. But as Brent’s rise and demands for more money put him at odds with his boss, he also attracts the attention of a rival producer (James Franco) and his unstable lover (Keegan Allen) who will stop at nothing to squash Cobra Video and steal its number one star. Co-starring Alicia Silverstone and Molly Ringwald, King Cobra is part delirious, tabloid-shocker satire, part American tragedy.

King Cobra hits VOD on October 21st.
