Considering Avengers: Infinity War will bring together both the old and new members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, plus the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, and likely some more characters, it should come as no surprise Doctor Strange will be there too. In the latest edition of Empire [via ScreenRant], Cumberbatch revealed the Sorcerer Supreme will take part in the former two-parter, although just how crucial his role will be is unclear.
The smart money is that it will be a significant appearance, though. While discussing what's next for Strange, he talks about the need to get his schedule in sync with the rest of Infinity War's A-list cast...
“To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter… So watch this space to see how that unfolds."
With Captain America having given up his shield, Iron Man considered a sell-out to half the team, Hulk and Thor off in outer space somewhere, and everyone else who knows where, Doctor Strange could be one of the few heroes left to defend the planet against an all-powerful threat. Avengers: Infinity War opens May 4th 2018, preceded by Doctor Strange which opens on November 4th. Here are a couple of new photos featuring Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen, who looks like he just strolled in from the set of The Last Airbender.
