Jon Bernthal Goes To 'Sweet Virginia', Patrick Wilson Joins 'The Commuter', Li Bingbing Joins 'Meg'

The Punisher himself Jon Bernthal and Green Room's Imogen Poots have joined the indie thriller, Sweet Virginia, along with Christopher Abbott, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Odessa Young. Wow, what a lineup. Directed by Jamie Dagg, the film stars Bernthal as a motel owner with a dark past who befriends a young hitman responsible for a string of violent acts in town. [Deadline]

It's a reunion of The Conjuring stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the former has joined her in The Commuter. The action flick stars Liam Neeson as a businessman who must stop a deadly conspiracy during his daily train commute. Jaume Collet-Serra, who has worked with Neeson on three movies already, is directing. [THR]

Chinese superstar Li Bingbing (Resident Evil: Retribution, Transformers: Age of Extinction) has joined the giant shark film, Meg. She replaces Fan Bingbing (No, they aren't related) in the film which stars Jason Statham, Rainn Wilson, and Ruby Rose. Jon Turteltaub directs the movie about a prehistoric Carcharodon megalodon that has been unleashed.
