First Look At Brad Pitt And Marion Cotillard In WWII Spy Romance, 'Allied'

Summer blockbuster season getting you down? Yeah, I understand, but the fall is right around the corner and with it a bunch of prestige films that should help get you ready for the awards stretch. And one film that you may have forgotten about, because certainly I did, is Robert Zemeckis' Allied, starring Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt.

People has debuted the first image from the WWII spy romance, which is penned by Steven Knight (Locke, Eastern Promises) and resembles a wartime Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Pitt plays intelligence officer Max Vatan who encounters French resistance soldier Marianne Beausejour while on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. The two fall in love while the bullets fly, but their relationship faces new strains when they are reunited in London.

Allied hits theaters November 23rd.
