This has been a busy year for Batman in the movies, hasn't it? We've seen the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, then again in the animated Batman: The Killing Joke. And he even had a pretty cool cameo in the #1 film in the country, Suicide Squad. So what's up? Can the '60s TV duo of Adam West and Burt Ward get some love? Turns out they can.
A new trailer has been released for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, an animated movie set in the same world as the kitschy 1960s Batman series that starred West and Ward as Batman and Robin. They'll be reprising their roles, of course, joined by Julie Newman who is back as the voice of Catwoman. *swoon* Here's the synopsis for what looks a million times better than the three-season long show ever was. Let's keep it real.
It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by a quartet of Batman’s most fiendish foes – Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. This time, the four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City. It’s a truly fantastic adventure that will pit good against evil, good against good, evil against evil … and feature two words that exponentially raise the stakes for both sides: Replicator Ray. Holy Multiplication Tables!
Batman and Robin outer space? Yeah, this is gonna be wild. Directed by Rick Morales, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders hits Digital HD on October 11th, Blu-Ray/DVD on November 1st.
