It's been a while since we've had reason to get excited over Alicia Silverstone's casting, but this would certainly qualify. Production has begun on Yorgos Lanthimos' follow-up to The Lobster, the awesomely-titled The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and with it comes word that Silverstone will be joining the previously cast Colin Farell, Barry Keoghan, and Nicole Kidman.
Silverstone, along with fellow new additions Raffey Cassidy (Tomorrowland) and Bill Camp (12 Years a Slave) are part of a story that centers on a charismatic surgeon who sees his ideal life threatened when he tries to integrate a troubled teenage boy into his family. When the boy's intentions turn sinister the doctor is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice.
There's no word on Silverstone's role but I guess it's too much to hope she's playing her character from The Crush, since they seem to share some thematic parallels? [Deadline]
