If there was any shred of doubt the "Planet Hulk" storyline was going to be integral to Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel just put it all to rest at Comic-Con. Marvel has revealed the Planet Hulk-inspired gladiatorial weapons and armor Hulk will be wielding in the film, which finds him and Thor trapped on a distant planet where combat is a way of life.
In the comics that planet is the gladiator world known as Sakaar, and the Hulk ended up there after the Illuminati (made up of various Marvel heroes, including some Avengers) deemed him too dangerous. On Skaar, Hulk became a champion, gathered a gang of followers known as the Warbound, and fathered two children, Skaar and Hiro-Kala. How much of that will be in the movie? Possibly none of it, but based on the below images we know the Hulk will be doing quite a bit of fighting, maybe even against Thor?
