After an impressive run of prestige films that netted her two Best Actress Oscars for Boys Don't Cry and Million Dollar Baby, Hilary Swank fell into quite a rut. A series of underwhelming dramas that nobody saw followed, such as 2014's The Homesman (review here) opposite Tommy Lee Jones. If she's going to make a splash again, one way to definitely do it would be as part of Steven Soderbergh's comeback film, Logan Lucky, which is gathering an impressive list of stars.
Swank has joined Daniel Craig, Katherine Heigl, Channing Tatum, Riley Keough, Adam Driver and Seth MacFarlane in Logan Lucky, playing an FBI agent tasked with stopping a pair of brothers who plan a major heist at a NASCAR event. While he's been keeping busy on the TV side this will be Soderbergh's first feature since Side Effects in 2013.
Filming begins in the fall, and given Soderbergh's usual workrate we can probably expect to see Logan Lucky next year. [Deadline]
