Daniel Craig Joins Halle Berry In LA Riots Film, 'Kings'

Some will take this latest news as another sign that Daniel Craig is done as James Bond, and maybe that's true. Maybe. But more likely he's taking advantage of the opportunity to work on other projects before it's time to suit up as 007 again. Ironically, his next film will see him teaming up with a former Bond Girl.

Deadline reports Craig will join Halle Berry in Kings, the LA Riots drama from Mustang director Deniz Gamze Erguven. Berry played the popular Jinx character in Die Another Day before Craig took over as Bond. Craig will play a resident of South Central during the 1992 riots that broke out after the Rodney King verdict, with Berry as the mother he falls in love with and helps to protect her children.

No word on when this will shoot but it may have to work around Steven Soderbergh's Logan Lucky which Craig recently joined and films this fall. He's also set to star in the 20-episode Showtime series, Purity.
