There's a movie on the way that features one actor from both Mad Max: Fury Road and X-Men: Apocalypse, the star of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, another star of The Jungle Book and Iron Man 3, and friggin' Hannibal Lecter. Should be pretty damned amazing, right? Well, that movie is Collide, and it stars Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Ben Kingsley, and Anthony Hopkins. By now you've probably seen a couple of international trailers for it and forgot all about them because, despite the cast, it looks sorta pedestrian. And chances are your opinion won't change with this latest one, either.
Directed by Eran Creevy, the high-adrenaline flick finds Hoult as a retired criminal who gets pulled into one more job in order to earn money for his girl's kidney transplant. Of course things don't go as planned and he's forced to race across Europe to save both of their lives.
Could be fun, but doubtful it leaves much of an impression. I'm going to continue holding out hope it'll surprise me. Collide opens August 19th.
