Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, these X-Men characters are familiar even to those who don't follow Marvel's merry band of mutants. But what about Cannonball? Wolfsbane? And Magik? Chances are they aren't as recognizable, but that could be about to change as director Josh Boone appears to have revealed all of them to be just a part of his upcoming New Mutants roster.
Boone dropped a series of images on his Instagram account, each featuring a different member of the team. If we're to trust in Boone's social media activities, the roster will be Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Warlock (!!!), Magik, Sunspot, and Moonstar. You'll note that many of these names have been rumored for a while, with Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) rumored for the Wolfsbane role and Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) for Magik, who happens to be the sister of Colossus. Producer Simon Kinberg has also suggested some new faces could be included, not to mention a few X-Men. Alexandra Shipp, who is playing Storm in X-Men: Apocalypse, may be part of the cast along with James McAvoy as Charles Xavier.
With the X-Men movies undergoing an evolution of sorts, New Mutants could become the new centerpiece of 20th Century Fox's franchise.
