Fox and Matthew Vaughn better hope the success of Kingsman: The Secret Service wasn't a fluke, because the sequel is going to cost them a ton just on cast salaries. The latest to join the returning Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Sophie Cookson, and Mark Strong in Kingsman: The Golden Circle is "The Dude" himself, Jeff Bridges, and apparently he'll be a hard drinkin' sonuvagun.
Bridges is just the latest huge name to be part of the sequel's cast, along with Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, Pedro Pascal, and Halle Berry. He made the announcement like most of the new additions confirmed their involvement, by tweeting a 'Kingsman' image with a descriptive quote from his character.
So yeah, he'll be one who likes a stiff drink and probably a good fight, not unlike Rooster Cogburn from True Grit. Probably without the eyepatch and that whole cowboy thing, though. Maybe. The story finds British agents Eggsy and Merlin teaming up with The Statesman, the American counterparts to The Kingsman, after the latter's HQ is destroyed by a criminal mastermind played by Moore.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens June 16th 2017. [Deadline]
