It's Blake Lively Vs. A Killer Shark In 'The Shallows' Trailer

Blake Lively is on a roll, people. Not quite on the level of her husband, Ryan Reynolds, but she's definitely having a moment. It was largely due to her that The Age of Adaline proved to be a sleeper hit last year, and this summer she'll have a key role in Woody Allen's Cafe Society.  And know what else she'll be doing during the blockbuster season? Fighting off a killer shark.

A new trailer for The Shallows reveals more of Lively as a surfer who finds herself in the feeding ground of a great white shark. Her only hope of survival is to make it 200 yards back to shore, but that's obviously easier said than done.  The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who knows a thing or two about ratcheting up tension after the thrillers Orphan, Non-Stop, and Run All Night. Why isn't Liam Neeson the voice of the shark? That would be sick.

The Shallows opens on June 24th.
