This weekend Ben Wheatley's High-Rise hits theaters (I'll have a review up soon) and it's another film that some will find either too violent, too weird, or just too much of both. But the director has his share of fans, and that includes those in Hollywood who flock to be part of his movies. Case in point is his next film, Free Fire, and the first look has arrived at the gritty shoot 'em up and its celebrity cast..
Oscar winner Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, and Cillian Murphy are seen in the debut image. Sam Riley, Enzo Cilenti, Jack Reynor, Noah Taylor, Sharlto Copley, and Michael Smiley co-star in the film which features an exec-producer credit by none other than Martin Scorsese, adding even more to its bonafides. The story is set in 1970s Boston and centers on an arms deal brokered by a woman between two Irishmen and a gang. When the deal goes spectacularly wrong and bullets start flying around the warehouse, everyone must fight for their own survival.
Yep, now we know why Scorsese is backing this one. Hopefully there will be a trailer soon and a release date.
