Oscar winner Jared Leto has signed on for the action-thriller, The Outsider, in which he plays an American solider indebted to the Japanese criminal outfit. The film is set in post-WWII Japan,with Leto's character released from prison with the help of his Yakuza cellmate. To earn their respect he joins their ranks and navigates the criminal underworld. The film will be directed by Martin Zandvliet (Land of Mine) with a script by Bastille Day's Andrew Baldwin. Shooting begins this fall, after we've had a chance to see Leto as the Joker in Suicide Squad.
Alec Baldwin and Scott Eastwood are set to headline cop thriller Crown Vic, which will be written and directed by Joel Souze. The gritty, futuristic flick follows two LAPD officers navigating their own personal issues while tracking a pair of vicious cop killers. Are they sure David Ayer isn't directing this?
