Despite its place as one of the biggest, if not the biggest, MMORPGs in video gaming history, there doesn't seem to be much buzz for Warcraft as a movie. This is also despite fan-favorite director Duncan Jones, and trailers that appear to match the visual splendor of the games' cinematic cut scenes. So what's the deal? Perhaps there will be some answers in the latest trailer, released today through the film's Facebook page.
Unlike previous trailers, this one is focused on the humans who must deal with an orc invasion after their realm was destroyed. Individual scenes are breath-taking and if you like giant battles between monsters, powerful mages, and brave knights, this should be a lot of fun. However it's tough to escape the specter of the Lord of the Rings movies which looked pretty much the same.
Then again, it's probably best to give Jones the benefit of the doubt given what he was able to accomplish with Moon and Source Code. Starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Toby Kebbell, Rob Kazinsky, Daniel Wu, and Dominic Cooper, Warcraft opens June 10th.
