Gone are the days when the Fast & Furious franchise's villains consisted of random drug dealers or street racing goons played by Brian Tee. They've grown way beyond that and big names have been required to fill the baddie role, whether it be Luke Evans, Jason Statham, or the newest addition, Mad Max: Fury Road's Charlize Theron.
After being rumored for the role a few months ago, Theron is now officially on board for Fast 8, and hopefully her character will be driving a badass War Rig? And can she be named Furiosa? Anyway, she'll be joined by Game of Thrones' Kristofer Hivju, who signed on yesterday to play the villain's henchman. We don't know anything else about their roles but you can expect them to face off with Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto and his family. It's also unclear if Theron's character will be sticking around for the two sequels already planned.
This is actually a reunion between Theron, Statham, and director F. Gary Gray, who worked together on The Italian Job. Is there not a role for Mos Def anywhere? Or would that be one rapper too many? Fast 8 hits theaters on April 14th 2017.
