Following the first image released just a couple of days ago, Dreamworks and Netflix have debuted the teaser for Voltron: Legendary Defender, their animated revival of the classic '80s cartoon. The footage premiered at WonderCon where the voice cast was also revealed, and there will be a few familiar names playing the zord pilots.
The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun voices Keith, Jeremy Shada is Lance, Pidge is voiced by Bex Taylor, Shiro is voiced by Josh Keaton, and Reaper star Tyler Labine is Hunk. That's not all as the first look at the five human teenagers piloting the lions were also revealed...

For those wondering where Princess Allura is, she will be a part of the series, voiced by Kimberly Brooks. Allura has been sleeping for 10,000 years, and when she wakes she'll be tougher and "certainly not fainting at every little thing that overwhelms her" like in the prior series, or so promises exec-producer Lauren Montgomery. And of course there will be the evil King Zarkon (voiced by Neil Kaplan), who has been conquering the universe for thousands of years.

The 13-episode season will be looking to maintain the feel of the original, while adding a bit more realism. To that end, the characters will have extensive backstories, and there will be more storyarcs than contained episodes. Montgomery adds, “Not everything is solved by Voltron alone. Sometimes they need to beat something just as the lions. Sometimes they just do it as themselves fighting as men.”
Voltron: Legendary Defender hits Netflix on June 10th.
