New Trailer For James Wan's 'The Conjuring 2' Conjures More Terror

While James Wan is ready to deliver more vintage scares with The Conjuring 2, this is actually the third film in the franchise. A couple of years back we were treated to Annabelle, a prequel centering on the haunted doll imprisoned by Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga). But now it's time to tell the supernatural detectives' story once more, and the latest trailer is the spookiest one yet.

This time the real-life paranormal investigators are helping another terrorized family, this one across the pond in what became known as the "Enfield poltergeist" case. Franka Potente, Simon McBurney, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and Frances O'Connor co-star. Here's the official synopsis:

The Conjuring 2 brings to the screen another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who, in one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations, travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.

After taking a break from horrors to direct Furious 7, Wan appears to have stuck with the bigger is better approach. But one of the strengths of the first film was its intimacy, and we'll have to see how well audiences respond to what Wan is going for this time. The Conjuring 2 opens June 10th.
