While it's a little sad that Colin Firth won't be returning for the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, the film is definitely moving forward without him. And the first steps to doing that have begun as one Oscar winner is about to be replaced by another.
According to Deadline, Halle Berry is in talks to join Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman 2, and it won't be just for one film but for two. She joins the returning Taron Egerton in a story that is expected to move the action stateside, which may explain Berry's role as the head of the CIA. This will be Berry's second major franchise for 20th Century Fox as she played Storm in most of their X-Men movies, including 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past which had Vaughn as a writer.
Kingsman 2 opens June 16th 2017.
